LUSH Christmas Haul

‘The Magic of Christmas‘ bubble bar; ‘Golden Wonder‘, ‘Father Christmas‘, ‘Northern Lights‘, ‘Never Mind The Ballistics‘ and ‘So White‘ Bath Bombs; ‘Santa’s Post Box‘ and ‘Igloo‘ Soap; ‘Papa Noel‘ Shower Jelly and ‘Elf On The Shelf‘ FUN; ‘Bubbly‘ Shower Gel, ‘Sleepy‘ Body Lotion, ‘Snow Fairy‘ Body Conditioner and ‘Sugar Plum Fairy‘ Lip Scrub.

One of my favourite places to shop till I drop is none other than Lush. Their products are beautiful, natural and smell damn flippin’ good! So of course when the Christmas trees are up and the lights start to sparkle, Lush brings out their limited edition Christmas collection which, let’s admit, is irresistible.

This year there are quite a few familiar products as well as some exciting new ones! ‘The Magic of Christmas’ is a returning favourite that is the scent of Christmas sitting on a cinnamon stick and decorated with star anise and cloves.  ‘Never Mind The Ballistics’, with lime, orange and frankincense; is one of the few new bath bombs this year. ‘Father Christmas’ and ‘Golden Wonder’ are popular returns from last year as well as the ‘Northern Lights’ and ‘So White’ who both have a completely new look! ‘Santa’s Post Box’ with a beautiful orange scent and, ‘Igloo’ which has a similar scent to the ‘Satsuma’ bath bomb, are two new and super cute soaps. The coolest part about the ‘Igloo’ soap is that it comes in bricks so you can use it to build an actual igloo, how crazy is that!! Another crazy item that Lush has included this year is the ‘Papa Noel’ Shower Jelly which is an actual Santa beard! Then there is the classic old FUN which has been given a Christmas twist with ‘Elf On The Shelf’ so that you can make Santa’s little helper. ‘Bubbly’ shower gel is a beautiful infusion of orange, lime and grape to give you that fresh feeling of bathing in a glass of breakfast champagne. ‘Sleepy’ is a twilight scented body lotion using lavender to help you get a good nights rest before Christmas morning. There is a new body conditioner this year called ‘Snow Fairy’ which you can probably guess is the all-time favourite ‘Snow Fairy’ scent, with a cherry infusion that makes you smell like candy floss! Last but most certainly not least is the ‘Sugar Plum Fairy’ lip scrub, this scrub is a new addition to the Christmas range with the sweet taste of juicy blackcurrant.

Summertime Lips

It’s summer time! And oh boy is it hot! Which makes it the perfect time to whip out all your beautifully bright and vibrant lip colours, which means pink, pink and more pink! And let’s not forget a gorgeous,  bold Christmas red, perfect for the festive season. So I wanted to share my top four lipstick colours for those hot summer days.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick Kate (R99.95):

My first summertime lip choice had to be a nude and who better to choose than the Rimmel Kate in colour 042. It is really soft and buttery, keeping your lips softer for longer as it glides on super smooth. The colour payoff is really good, especially for a nude but I am not the biggest fan of the smell. Apart from that factor I absolutely love this lippie and my favourite part is the mellow pink packaging.

MAC Versicolour Stain (R320):

This is such a lovely vibrant red, in the colour Forever Darling. It is definitely my favourite of the four. It’s a bit messy to apply but beautiful once you get it on right. It being a stain, adds to the longevity and it has an almost lipgloss to lipstick feel with a bit of stickiness. Again the packaging is fabulous and gives the look of a capsule.

Lancome Rouge In Love (R325):

I’m going to be honest and say I have no clue what colour this lipstick is as the number rubbed off, but I took a wild guess that it was 181N Rouge Saint Honore. This is my perfect summer/Christmas red. Lancome makes some fantastic lip products and this one is no exception, with the best scent; that being rose. This lipstick has the smoothest and silkiest application and is extremely moisturising.

LUSH Lips (R195):

Last, but certainly not least, the best watermelon coloured lipstick by LUSH is in the colour Believe. This particular lipstick does have a very grainy texture but regardless it still applies very smooth. The colour payoff is incredible and it actually acts like a liquid lipstick/stain once completely dry.

Advent Calendars 2016

Benefit (R745):

This year Benefit created a 12 Days of Christmas calendar consisting of 12 best-selling minis.  This is a great gift to introduce a friend or family member to the Benefit Cosmetic world as a lot of the products are Benefit classics. The best part is this limited-edition set plays an original “Bene-song” when opened, which I founnd gave it a bit of an old school, classic Christmas card twist.

The Body Shop (R1250):

This is one of the most exciting advent calendars I could get my hands on this year. It’s a FULL 24 Days to Christmas skin-loving Beauty Advent Calendar. Its packed with some of their best-selling bath and body products, including minis and full size as well as parts of their Christmas product range. The box is absolutely gorgeous and each individual product is packaged in its own little box. Unfortunately they are not selling them online in South Africa, but you can get them in store.

Lindt (R269,95):

Sticking to tradition with the classic old chocolate advent calendar, Lindt has created a fantastic indulgent calendar this year. It consists 24 days of their HELLO chocolate collection which includes flavours like; Cookies and Cream, Caramel Brownie and my personal favourite, Strawberry Cheesecake. If you needed an excuse to have a bit of chocolate before breakfast, well now you have one.
