‘Golden Egg’ Bath Melt; ‘Bunch Of Carrots’ Bubble Bar and ‘Which Came First? (Spots)’, ‘Which Came First? (Stripes)’ and ‘Chick ’N’ Mix’ Bath Bombs.
This year’s LUSH Easter collection was unfortunately very limited, especially in South Africa. With a lot of repeats, facelift, and one new bath bomb, all I can say is I was quite disappointed. Thankfully it’s all made up with how amazing they are.
‘Golden Egg’, being a returning favourite, seemed to have more golden sparkle than last year. It smells just like toffee and because it is a melt it has the oil in it already which leaves your skin feeling really soft. For those who don’t know, LUSH uses PET free glitter so you don’t have to worry about all that sparkle going down the drain. Another repeat this year is ‘Bunch Of Carrots’ which is THE cutest bubble bar in the world with a fresh lemon scent and it makes it so worth it because you get three! ‘Which Came First (Spots)’ and ‘Which Came First (Stripes)’ is another repeat but with a new look. They both have the same scent, that being hints of lemon and grapefruit, but they look just slightly different from one another. This particularly bath bomb is supposed to be cracked open to find a baby chick inside and then used either three times or as one whole bomb. Lastly is the exciting new bath bomb, ‘Chick ’N’ Mix’. This one is another multiple use bath bomb that comes in three separate pieces. First the chick, a bunny in the centre and a blue base. The familiar scent, Tonka reminds me of using The Comforter bubble Bar which is an ultimate fav!
I’ve fallen into a trap, that being the Kylie Jenner liquid lipsticks. Thanks again to the convenience of barebeauty.co.za I managed to snag the Koko Collection which includes 3 matte liquid lipsticks, Khlos, Gorg and Okurrr and one gloss, Damn Gina. This is one of my favourite collection so far, especially the full gold packaging.
One of my Favourite from the collection, Khlos has a dark peachy appearance. I did notice that it dried darker than when I first applied it but it makes it all the more beautiful. This one is the easiest to apply, possibly because it is the lighter colour, and it is lightweight on the lips.
This liquid lipstick is such a stunning colour BUT… again with the dark liquid lipsticks being patchy? I just don’t understand why the best colours have to be like this. Fortunately, it’s not as bad as Blitzen from the Holiday Edition so you can kinda get away with it. Gorg is such a rich deep red, perfect for those cold winter outings.
This is such a fun lively pink colour, perfect for the summer months. This one feels especially light on the lips but does dry slightly darker, not enough to change its vibrancy though.
This gloss is very similar to Cupid from the Holiday Edition but has less of an orange undertone and leans more towards a pink champagne colour. As I said in my previous post, I am not a fan of glosses but the Kylie Jenner glosses are incredible and this one, in particular, is a perfect lip topper for any lighter shade but is still beautiful on its own.
Living in South Africa definitely has its downsides when it comes to being a makeup lover. Not being able to get your hands on some of the biggest name brands from around the world. If you are lucky enough to find them, you take the chance of it being fake and if you order from the website and you’re lucky enough that they’ll deliver to your door, you take the chance of it getting lost in the post.
BUT not all is lost because our saving grace has arrived! That being barebeauty.co.za. Thus my order of a Holiday Edition of Kylie Jenner Cosmetics. This collection included two matte liquid lipsticks, Angel and Blitzen, and two glosses, Noel and Cupid.
This liquid lipstick is SOO AMAZING! It is such a beautiful mauve pink colour, with a lightweight feel. Being a liquid lipstick it dries matte but doesn’t dry out your lips. It lasts all day and doesn’t crumb at all. This is definitely my favourite of the pack. And can I just say, the packaging is to die for.
This lipstick… I just want to cry because it is such a stunning deep berry but when you apply it, it just becomes SO PATCHY!! Why?! I love this lipstick and I tried so hard to make it work. I applied it in so many different ways but each time I tried I got the same result! It is a big let down and I don’t seem to be the only one who battles with the darker colours. I also found that the formula became really crumbly after a while and it didn’t last as long.
I am not a gloss person at all, especially a sticky gloss kinda person, but I may be converted. Noel is such a stunning gold shimmer gloss but not in the cheap looking way. Its formula is really soft and just slightly sticky, but not enough to put me off. I also found that this was a perfect lip topper to apply over Angel to give it that extra bit of bling.
Rose gold lip gloss. Who doesn’t love themselves a bit of rose gold, even in the form of a lipgloss? Being extremely similar to Noel, the formula was consistent and so was the bling factor and found this to be an amazing lip topper for both Angel and Blitzen.
